THE QUEEN was invited to a Redruth artist's exhibition in Camborne this week.
Unfortunately her majesty was unable to attend the one day show held at home care agency Dove Project's premises at Commercial Square on Tuesday.
But she sent a letter of thanks and her apologies to Karen Mitchell, aged 34.
During the day, which was attended by social workers, family, friends and the general public, the artist sold four pieces of work.
Service manager Lyndsay Kitchen said: "The most significant piece was about the cuts made to adult social care when Karen was trying to find housing.
"She illustrated this by creating a painting which she then cut in two. Her other paintings were of local engine houses."
Anyone interested in seeing or purchasing Karen's work should contact the Dove Project where the collection will be on display for the next two weeks.
Anybody interested in the Dove Project services should contact either Angela Jane, registered manager, or Lyndsay Kitchen, service manager, on 01209 612494.
