Westcountry sailors were at the heart of a British team which won one of the top inshore regattas in the world.
While Ben Ainslie was winning his historic fourth Olympic gold medal at Weymouth, Team GBR Red were securing the prestigious Brewin Dolphin Commodores' Cup in the waters of the Solent.
The three-strong team included the yacht Dignity which is owned and skippered by Andy Williams, a member of the Royal Western Yacht Club in Plymouth.
"To win the Brewin Dolphin Commodores' Cup was a sailing highlight and dream for us," said Mr Williams, who lives in Saltash, South East Cornwall. "We've all had high points and low points and the point is that we've stuck together and that's been very positive."
Crew on the Dignity included Steve Northmore, who lives in Ivybridge and has raced for 53 years in Plymouth, and Jonathan Pegg, from Yealmpton.
After eight races in difficult conditions last week, Team GBR Red, which also included yachts CNBC and Keronimo, snatched the cup from visiting teams including France, Belgium, the Netherlands and Hong Kong.
