Boreham Wood 0 Truro City 0
City again showed their remarkable spirit to take a well deserved point off high-flying Boreham Wood at Meadow Park.
And they could have made the long trip home with all three if Marcus Martin had converted a late penalty following a foul on Danny Carne.
But his spot-kick was saved by home keeper James Russell and it then needed a great stop by City keeper Luke McCormick to ensure they took what was only their fourth point away from Treyew Road this season.
The Tigers made the 5am morning trip from Cornwall with just 12 players as Calron Hall (personal reasons) and Kieffer Moore (injury) were unable to travel.
Fortunately skipper Jake Ash was fit to return in central defence and young Danny Carne came in for only his second start and performed well on the wing.
The game itself, watched by crowd of just 200, was evenly fought with few clear cut chances and City showed few signs of a tough spell of three games in eight days as they more than matched the Hertfordshire side.
Andy Watkins and Cody Cooke both went close, but the home side also had their moments.
With time running out City were given a great chance to complete the double over their opponents, having beaten them 2-0 at Treyew Road earlier in the season.
Carne was brought down as he burst into the area, but Martin, who had scored from the penalty spot against Tonbridge Angels last week, was unable to beat Russell who stood his ground and blocked the shot before the ball was scrambled clear for corner.
City were then indebted to the impressive McCormick for a top class fingertip save to turn away what looked like a certain late winner for Wood.
And manager Lee Hodges conceded a draw was probably a fair result.
He said: "It was a point gained against a very good side and we roll our sleeves up again and go again at Eastleigh on Tuesday night."
The only downside was a fifth booking of the season for full back Hopkinson who now faces a one match ban.
