Cornwall's Michelin-starred chef and restaurateur Nathan Outlaw has put paid to rumours he is leaving the county to run a new eatery in London.
Recently there has been speculation he was due to leave the county to run his latest venture in the capital when it opens in the autumn.
But, according to his blog, after the ribbon is cut on Outlaw's Seafood & Grill at The Capital Hotel in Knightsbridge in October, he will resume his usual duties in Cornwall. He will however, pop-up to London once a week to make sure everything is operating smoothly.
The move, he writes, was prompted "purely by chance and following a light-hearted discussion" with David Levin who owns the hotel.
He said: "I wasn't actively seeking to move into London, even though many of my supporters had suggested I should, but the more I've thought about it, the more attractive the prospect has become.
"I will say here though, this does not mean I'm leaving Cornwall.
"The Capital is an excellent, well-established hotel and the opportunity to re-launch the dining experience there and bring it into line with current trends offers me a challenge that I relish.
"It will also allow me to take the very best produce from the South West and present it on a more global stage."
