Cornish Pirates forward Laurie McGlone will achieve something of a landmark for the club after being recalled to the starting XV today.
The Pirates take on Swansea in the British and Irish Cup, leading Pool Three by four points after beating the Welsh Premiership outfit 29-7 at Mennaye Field last weekend in the reverse fixture.
It will be McGlone's 100th appearance for the club since he arrived from Coventry in 2009. The New Zealander says it will make him every bit as proud as memorably beating Premiership-bound Worcester Warriors and winning the Cup in 2010.
"It will be a great honour to run out on Saturday," he said. "I have really enjoyed my time here, winning against Worcester away in the league was special, as was beating Munster at Camborne in the first ever British and Irish Cup final."
McGlone hopes his side can improve upon their performance last weekend. The victory was not as convincing as the score suggests and Pirates missed out on a four-try bonus point.
Achieving that secondary objective will be no easier this weekend. The Cornish side have yet to win a British and Irish Cup game on Welsh soil.
McGlone said: "Looking ahead to Saturday we will endeavour to be more accurate than we were last Sunday, with our first and foremost aim being to win the match and then hopefully gain a bonus point.
"It won't be easy, as we've yet to win in Wales, but to lay that bogey to rest would be great on my 100th game."
The Cornish Pirates make a number of changes this Saturday from the side that started against Swansea on Sunday.
Skipper Gavin Cattle returns at scrum-half, Tom Bedford moves from centre to wing, and Tom Riley and Junior Fatialofa will form the midfield pairing.
Changes in the pack are all in the back-row where McGlone, who had such an impact off the bench last weekend, starts at No.8.
Kyle Marriott, who captained the side last weekend after returning from injury, moves to the flank in place of the unwell Joe Buckle.
New signing Kyle Moyle is named on the replacements' bench.
A product of Penzance & Newlyn RFC's youth section, he completed his move to the Cornish Pirates this week, having previously played for the Pirates Amateurs, St Ives and the Cornish All Blacks.
Cornish Pirates: Davies; Bedford, Riley, Fatialofa, Mercer; Hallett, Cattle (capt); Andrew, Elloway, Joyce; Lyons, Barry; Tyas, Marriott, McGlone. Replacements: Paver, Semmens, Prescott, Hambly, Cheeseman, Kessell, Moyle.
