A Christmas tradition dating back 49 years has bathed the tiny West Cornwall village of Mousehole in sparkling festive lights.
On Saturday, the switch was thrown on the annual Christmas lights which adorn the harbour and the town of the picturesque village.
The event was celebrated with an open-air carol concert by the Carolaire Choir, the combined Mousehole Male Voice Choir and the Chapel Choir.
The display will illuminate the tiny village every night until January 4, apart from December 19 when they are dimmed for an hour to mark the anniversary of the Penlee lifeboat tragedy.
On Saturday, Coverack on the Lizard peninsula was illuminated for Christmas after local resident Joan Kearsley MBE threw the switch.
Ashton, near Helston, also switched on their illuminations.
The lighting of festive lights has now largely taken place across the region, with many switch-on's coinciding with the start of late night shopping in a town.
