Tim Harrison, who dreams of being the next big name in fishing television, is fast building his reputation in the online film industry after making a series of films called Fishing Adventure with Tim Harrison for his course at Cornwall College Camborne.
The 20-year old was studying for an extended diploma in media production last January when he came up with the idea for his final project.
With help from his Dad, Tim spent four months filming and a further two months editing the footage.
Each episode is a how-to guide for viewers to get tips and advice.
Tim then sent his work off to various companies asking if they would watch the videos and give him feedback.
Specialist clothing company Ecogear responded by asking Tim to become one of its ProStaff, meaning he gets clothing and equipment.
He said: "I wasn't expecting the videos to be such a big hit. When I started filming it I hoped it would be popular but never thought it would generate this much interest. I've always dreamed of being sponsored and this is the perfect opportunity to be seen on a much wider scale."
Tim is now studying on the media production Higher National Diploma course and is also working with a website called Online Fishing TV, which is due to feature some of his videos in the next few weeks.
He said the course, along with his own determination, is what has helped him to succeed.
"I love everything about my course," he said. "It really shows you what is involved and prepares you in the right way for a career in the media industry. It has opened my eyes to what goes on behind the camera."
Course manager Rory Mason said: "This has been a fantastic achievement for Tim. He has produced some excellent pieces of film which have grasped the attention of the audience on a much wider scale than he anticipated and now he has corporate sponsorship and lots of ways to incorporate the company's products into his videos. This is only the start of big things for him."
