Eight cars and a garden shed have been broken into in the last ten days in Hayle.
Police are warning motorists to make sure they lock their cars and keep all valuables out of sight following the spate of thefts.
The first incident involved a black Toyota at Ventonleague, which had been left unlocked and thieves got away with a laptop and sat nav worth £450 overnight on December 10.
Then overnight on December 12, three more vehicles were targeted including a green Peugeot on Trelissick Road, a Renault on Commercial Road and a white Citreon on Millpond Avenue.
Overnight on Sunday a black Nissan was hit in St Erth's Vicarage Street and in the early hours of Tuesday morning three vehicles in Pentowan Gardens and a garden shed were broken into.
Thieves got away with a sat nav worth £120 and a £100 pair of bright orange Adidas football boots with missing studs.
Sergeant Simon Dobson of the Hayle neighbourhood policing team said most of these crimes were likely to have been committed by the same person or group of people and that car thefts was now a priority for the team with extra patrols being put in place.
He said: "If anyone sees anything suspicious they should report it to the police. Particularly on mid-week evenings as there seems to be a pattern."
