Harbour Lights in Falmouth has been shortlisted for a new award category at Seafish's 2013 National Fish and Chip Awards. It is up against The Chippy in Antrim and Platten's Fish and Chips in Wells-Next-The-Sea, Norfolk to win the quality award 'champion,' as part of the National Federation of Fish Friers Fish and Chip Quality Award scheme. This newly created accolade was created by the National Federation of Fish Friers, to acknowledge UK fish and chip shops who continue to raise the standards of the overall industry.
It recognises shops that achieve the perfect balance between good quality products, clean hygienic premises, and high standards of shop appearance and highly trained and competent managers and staff.  The finalists have been shortlisted from all those who take part in the NFFF programme. Peter Fraser, owner of Harbour Lights, said: "We are beyond thrilled and really honoured as we're a big supporter of the work the NFFF do. "They go out their way to encourage shops to strive for quality which is exactly what we do at Harbour Lights. "It's a great confidence boost to us that what we're striving to achieve has been recognised and our customers can be reassured that we offer a great-tasting, quality product. "We're a big team at Harbour Lights and it is down to the contribution and hard work of each and every member of staff that we have been shortlisted. We can't wait to attend the final in London."
The finalists will attend the awards ceremony in London next month.
