MORE than 100 guests, including a very special birthday girl, enjoyed an annual festive event in Penzance.
For the past 23 years the Rotary Club of Mounts Bay has held a Christmas party for local senior citizens, inviting some of the most isolated and lonely residents in Penwith.
This year around 120 people joined in the festive cheer with transport, party food and entertainment all laid on at St John's Hall by the club for its special guests.
Among them was Betty Wilson from Newlyn who had celebrated her 93rd birthday the previous day.
"This annual event remains very popular with the regular attendees," said a spokesman for the club.
"The West Cornwall Concert Band and flautist provided the entertainment this year and played throughout the party ending off the evening by accompanying the singing of the most popular Christmas carols."
