Heavy rain and strong winds due to hit the Duchy on Sunday evening could cause further flooding and disruption.

The Met Office has issued a yellow warning for rain from 6pm on Sunday until 6pm on Monday.

A flood warning, meaning flooding is expected, remains in place for the River Cober at Helston including St Johns Road, St Johns Close, Coronation Park and Loe Pool.

The Environment Agency said river levels "remain high and responsive to rainfall," adding: "Later on Sunday a further band of frontal rainfall is expected to cross the area. We are continuing to overpump from Loe Pool into the sea, helping to reduce flood risk upstream in Helston."

The Westcountry experienced devastating flooding in the run up to Christmas, with 245 houses affected and severe disruption to roads and the railway.
