Whoops and screams echoed around Falmouth as swimmers took to the icy waters for a New Year's Day dip.
Conditions at Gyllyngvase Beach were perfect, with bright sunshine heralding the start of the new year.
Scores of people entered the sea - some with a flourish and some more gingerly - and many stayed in the water for up to half an hour.
