South West Lakes Trust, which manages Siblyback Lake near Liskeard, was highly commended at the Cornwall Sustainability Awards 2012.
Tommy Haydu, development manager at the charity, said: "We made significant improvements at our sites across Cornwall and it is great that our efforts were recognised by the judges."
He added: "Sustainability is part of South West Lakes Trust ethos. We promote and manage conservation and sustainable rural activities at the lakes of Cornwall."
The Trust was recognised in the best medium business category at the awards, which took place in Falmouth last month.
