David and Samantha Cameron shared mussels for lunch at Polzeath yesterday on their latest visit to Cornwall.

The couple, who are regular visitors to the Duchy, braved August showers to eat outside at the Waterfront Cafe Bar on Beach Road. The cafe manager, Kato Harrison, said that the Camerons were there for 45 minutes and shared a bowl of Porthilly Mussels Mariniere, made with mussels from the Camel Estuary.

The Cameron's youngest daughter, Florence, was born whilst they were on holiday in Cornwall in 2010. Her middle name Endelion, is in honour of St Endelion, where they stayed that year. The family will remain in Cornwall until next weekend, although the Prime Minister will return to London briefly on Wednesday for the opening ceremony of the Paralympics.
