A body has been found in the hunt for a teenager who is believed to have jumped from a ferry over a £100 bet, police said.
Jordan Cobb, 16, jumped from the ferry as he made his way from Plymouth with a group of friends to a New Year's Eve party in Torpoint, South East Cornwall.
A Devon and Cornwall Police spokesman confirmed a body had been recovered from the River Tamar and the teenager's family had been informed of the find.
The spokesman added that no formal identification has taken place.
The teenager, from Plymouth, was last seen on New Year's Eve on the Torpoint Ferry.
Police and emergency services were joined by his friends to search for the popular Stoke Dameral Community College student.
A member of the public contacted the Ministry of Defence Police shortly before 5pm yesterday saying they had seen a body in the water.
An MoD launch was sent to an area on the Torpoint side of the river, close to where the ferry docks, and the body was recovered.
