Lanner Parish Council has lost its appeal against plans to build 25 affordable homes in the village.
Cornwall Council granted planning permission to Coastline Housing for the development in 2010.
The parish council, adamant that the village did not have a need for the properties, opted to fight the decision in the High Court.
A judicial review was held last October and the decision announced today, January 21, has gone in Cornwall Council's favour.
