THE SEARCH for a missing North Yorkshire man has switched focus to Newquay after his van was discovered in a car park at the resort.
Michael Whitham, 32, from the village of Reeth in the Yorkshire Dales, has not been in touch with his family since Monday, January 14.
His blue Nissan Navara pick-up was found in Newquay's Albany Road car park at 11am on the day he went missing.
The vehicle has since been left unattended but police believe Mr Whitham may still be in the area.
He is described as white, of slim build with short, brown, spiked hair, brown eyes, and with a number of tattoos on his forearms.
Detective Constable Steve Applewhite, from Newquay CID, said: "Officers are concerned for his welfare and urge anyone who has seen him either on the morning of Monday, January 14, or since then to get in touch with police."
Anyone with information is asked to call 101 quoting log 293 of 14/01/13.
