A CAMBORNE-based lifeline service for vulnerable adults will be offering recession busting lunch deals for the whole community next month.
Members of the Drop In and Share Centre (DISC) at Camborne Parish Church were out in force leafleting the town centre last week.
They are offering residents one free meal either on a Tuesday or a Thursday and a chance to buy five lunches for the price of four in February.
Karen Hill, DISC project co-ordinator said: "We are trying to inform the general public and the community in Camborne that we are here as we hope to get more people through the door to taste some of our excellent value meals.
"This is our recession and blues busting promo and a small gift to our locals, especially for those would like to get a freshly cooked lunch in a warm environment where they will always be welcome."
For £1.50 people can enjoy a two-course meal that could include homemade corned beef hash or chicken pie with seasonal vegetables and a desert.
The centre, which previously offered support to vulnerable adults only, now caters for the whole community.
This follows the recent redundancies that saw two members of the team lose their jobs.
Ms Hill continued: "We have adopted a slightly different approach because there's only two members of staff here now.
"We have had to scale back individual support but we are still a safe space where everybody will feel welcome and can have a chat."
DISC Café is open from Monday to Friday between 10am and 2pm.
