A MAN and a woman have been given official drugs warnings after police officers discovered a "potential cannabis factory" in their Newquay home.
Police carried out a search of the property on Tor Road on Tuesday morning after securing a warrant under the Misuse of Drugs Act.
Sergeant Andrew Honeywill hailed the operation as a success and called on the town's residents to continue providing intelligence on drug offenders.
He said: "This was an example of good proactive police work involving officers from Newquay. Further warrants will be executed in the near future, as we continue to disrupt local drug networks."
PC Alex Allen, neighbourhood beat manager, added: "Cannabis, whatever people's feelings on the drug, remains an illegal substance in this country and will not be tolerated in Newquay.
"A successful warrant was executed this morning whereby two local people have been processed."
Contact police with information on 101 or call Crimestoppers on 0800 555111.
