The winner of the first ever Nick Love Award, which recognises the work of upcoming chefs in South East Cornwall, will be announced on Monday.
The award was set-up by Taste South East Cornwall in memory of Nick Love, who ran the Trawler's on the Quay restaurant in East Looe with his partner Mark Napper for five years.
Mr Love also co-founded Taste South East Cornwall back in 2005 alongside Nick Barclay, from the Blue Plate restaurant in Downderry.
A representative from Taste South East Cornwall said: "In honour of his memory and all the work Nick did in promoting the region through its food and drink, Taste SEC created the Nick Love Award to recognise and reward young talent within the hospitality, food and drink industry in the region."
The four finalists are Jack Darlington from the Trawlers on the Quay in Looe, Reuben Bairstow-Baines from Nippers Shellfish in Looe, Matt Vass from the Blue Plate in Downderry and Aaron Rix from Barclay House in Looe.
Mr Barclay said: "It's hoped that this award will help to show the youngsters how much they're appreciated and encourage them to remain within the industry so we can retain the talent that we nurture locally."
The winner will be announced on Monday at 7pm at the Trawlers on the Quay restaurant in Looe.
Graham Brooks, manager at Barclay House and member of Taste South East Cornwall, said: "We've had some great entries, all very worthy in their own right. It's been a really difficult choice."
