Truro City Res 1 Helston 4
Helston maintained their pursuit of leaders Godolphin Atlantic with a comfortable Carlsberg Division One West victory over a Truro side who were forced to play for an hour with only ten men after Tom Langford was sent off.
The City midfielder received the red card from referee Luke Maslam for foolishly pushing over Helston striker Liam Eddy, who was yellow carded for his part in the incident.
It effectively ended the home side's hope of upsetting second-placed Helston, who trail Godolphin by eight points with two games in hand after the north coast club won 4-1 at Holsworthy.
When Langford saw red, Truro were already trailing 2-1 after an entertaining opening half hour.
It was the visitors who struck first after 12 minutes when Kirk Davies finished well at the far post following a storming run by Eddy.
But City were soon level, with skipper Andy Bowker beating the Helston offside trap before rounding keeper Jason Robertson and finding the net.
Poor marking by Truro from Jamie Thompson's corner then allowed Ashley Stidwell to head powerfully home at the near pos to m ake it 2-1.
In the second half Helson were generally in control, though Bowker missed a great chance to make it 2-2 when he lobbed over with only Robertson to beat.
But with 15 minutes left Helston substitute Matt Fox crossed for Mark Goldsworthy to volley home their third and almost immediately Fox scored his side's fourth to wrap up Helston's 13th league win of the season.
