New Truro City goalkeeper Paul Hider and central defender Ben Gerring are poised to make their home debuts today as Cornwall's top non-League team bid for back-to-back Blue Square Bet South wins.
Lee Hodges' White Tigers host relegation rivals Staines Town at Treyew Road buoyed by a 2-1 win at ninth-placed Hayes & Yeading United.
Third-from-bottom Staines arrive in Cornwall 18 points above their hosts having played three matches more and seeking to bounce back from a 3-1 home defeat by Eastleigh, who leapfrogged over Hayes into seventh spot.
Hodges admits Truro's 2013 win has given everyone at the club a lift. Now he is keeping his fingers crossed for a spell of drier weather.
He said: "The forecast is good, for the first time in a long time. Who knows we may get some dry weather which means our pitch may dry out?
"Mark Brent has done a fantastic job on the pitch given the weather we have had and I am sure he would be grateful for a dry spell.
"If that happens he can get it nicely prepared, we can play our football and have a right go at getting our first back to back wins of the season."
Hodges – whose top scorer Kieffer Moore joined league rivals Dorchester on Monday after scoring last Saturday's 80th minute City winner at Hayes – is likely to pair veteran striker and fans' favourite Barry Hayles in attack with last week's other scorer, Andy Watkins.
Hodges said: "It's great getting that win last weekend. Everyone was buzzing at training and it was also great because Stewart Yetton did a full training session with us, so that was another lift for the lads.
"Yettsy came to the game last week and just having him around lifts the lads.
"We have to wait and see how he reacts now but, all things being equal, he could be back in the next week or so, which is another timely boost, another positive."
Looking ahead to today's match, Hodges believes his side can take heart from recent performances and finally ending a nine-match wait for a win.
He said: "I said it last week but I still believe we have played better and got nothing from games against Dover, Salisbury and Chelmsford – all up there in the top four – and yet, somehow, we have come away from Hayes, who started the day eighth, with three points and a long overdue win.
"Football is a funny game like that and that's why we always come back for more."
