Truro City manager Lee Hodges and his coaching staff of Dave Newton, Ian Leigh and Deba Sidhu have confirmed that they will stay with the financially troubled Blue Square Bet South club for at least another month.
Truro entered administration last week and their future is hanging in the balance, but the news that Hodges and his staff will stay is a welcome boost for the club. However, it is unclear whether all the players will follow suit.
Goalkeeper Tim Sandercombe has been approached by Oxford City and a decision on his future is expected this week, while midfielder Ben Adelsbury, who is currently injured, is wanted by Eastbourne Borough.
Adelsbury has resumed running, and may possibly be ready for the substitutes' bench this Saturday against Bromley if he stays. Speculation about the future of forward Les Afful is also rife.
Hodges revealed: "We had a meeting with the administrator last Thursday and the situation basically boils down to everyone having to decide within the next few days whether or not they are to stay on or leave the club.
"I've said to them all that I hope they will choose to stay, but that I will obviously understand if they choose to leave. The situation on the playing side should be a lot clearer by the end of the week," the City boss added.
"I'm hopeful that we will be able to field a team for this Saturday [at home to Bromley], and it will be really important to get as many supporters as we can into the ground for that game.
"The administrator has explained that with a good gate it should be possible to pay the boys some of that."
Exeter City youth-scheme product Josh Concanen believes that he and Owen Howe are proof that Tiverton Town youngsters can break into the first-team set-up at the Evo-Stik League Southern side.
Concanen has made the right-back spot his own at Ladysmead following his release from St James' Park last year, and he notched his first senior Tiverton goal in last Saturday's 1-1 home draw with Bridgwater Town.
Striker Howe has netted four goals in five matches, and Concanen feels the pair provide evidence that places are up for grabs for the younger players.
"Some of the reserve boys, if they have the hunger to do it, can push on like myself and Owen and force their way into the team," he said.
"We have a large squad, but if they are good enough at the end of the day they will come through with us.
"Owen has come in and done really well and got four in five games – he is only 18 too. I came in last season and got a bit of a taster, and this is my first full season now.
"I was happy when I was brought in [to the first team]. I did think it would take slightly longer for me to cement the position, but the manager [Mark Saunders] seems to trust me and is happy with me there.
"With Mark's coaching, he is helping me progress all the time and hopefully I can go higher and higher, but at the moment it's just nice to be playing regular football."
