Bodmin Town will be bidding to reach their fourth successive Cornwall Senior Cup final when they take on Penryn Athletic at Wadebridge Town's Bodieve Park tonight.
Bodmin manager Darren Gilbert has warned his players against complacency against their high-riding Carlsberg South West Peninsula League Division One West opponents.
Gilbert said: "We've got a terrific recent record in the Senior Cup which we are proud of, but that's in the past now and what matters is what happens this week.
"We should be good enough to beat Penryn and reach our fourth successive final, but our approach to the game will need to be spot-on.
"If we go in there thinking we only have to turn up to win, we'll find ourselves in trouble. So we'll give Penryn every respect; they are a good side and are fourth in their division."
Gilbert knows Bodmin will have to play far better than they have in recent games to get through to the Easter Monday final at Saltash United's Kimberley Stadium.
Gilbert was away for last Saturday's 5-1 win over Cullompton Rangers at Priory Park, a result which sent Town five points clear at the top of the South West Peninsula League Premier Division, with title rivals Plymouth Parkway being held to a 1-1 draw at Torpoint Athletic.
On the face of it, it was another excellent result as Bodmin look to retain the title. But Gilbert will have received reports that his side's performance was well below the standard which has been set in recent seasons.
They were lacklustre in the first half and a better side than Cullompton would have punished some sloppy defending.
One big plus for Gilbert was that his squad came through the game without any injury concerns, and influential players Olly Brokenshire and Steve Colwell were able to be taken off long before the end.
There was also a return to the squad, as an unused substitute, for striker Luke Hodge, who has recovered from a broken arm.
After tonight's contest, Bodmin have two home League games to look forward to in the next seven days. Saturday's visit of Witheridge is followed by a clash with Falmouth Town next Wednesday.
Bodmin will then embark on a run of six successive away League games, with their next scheduled home League match being on Wednesday, April 17, against Ivybridge Town.
Bridgwater Town want to bring back their former striker Dave Pearse from Evo-Stik Southern League Division One South and West rivals Tiverton Town. Pearse left Fairfax Park earlier this season to go to Ladysmead.
