POLICE community support officer Peter Bunyan got phone numbers for vulnerable women off the force's database and then embarked on sexual relationships with them, a court has heard.
Bunyan, 40, who worked in Camborne and Redruth, is facing 12 charges of misconduct at Taunton Crown Court.
He denies the charges. He is currently suspended from work.
While he was married, Bunyan allegedly drove to the women's homes up to four times a week while wearing uniform and romped with them while on duty.
He is said to have encouraged the women to post naked pictures of themselves, some pornographic, to his local police station. He is also accused of sleeping with one woman as he manned a local neighbourhood unit during a night shift on a housing estate.
It is alleged he sent sex texts to the women while on duty and is accused of using the Criminal Information System to research the women.
Bunyan's colleagues told the jury how he unashamedly appreciated the images sent to him on CDs.
PCSO Karen Morley told the court he was sent the images regularly, adding: "There were topless images and images using mirrors. He clearly appreciated these and would laugh and joke and check the mail to see if any discs arrived.
"I found him quite forthcoming to women, quite creepy and unprofessional."
Simon Burns, for the prosecution, told the court the relationships were consensual, but unprofessional and undermined the police service.
He said: "This is a trial about whether or not Peter Bunyan has behaved while on duty as a police officer inappropriately and unprofessionally.
"You will hear on occasions not only was he in full uniform in people's houses conducting sexual relationships while on duty, but on occasions turning down or off his police radio.
"If he was in his uniform and should have been at work, but was actually in bed with somebody, he was not fulfilling his proper role as a police officer and there would have been an abuse of his position."
Bunyan joined Devon and Cornwall Police in 2003.
He is alleged to have struck up relationships with five women between 2006 and 2011, sleeping with them on his way to work and while on duty.
It is also claimed he obtained a loan from one of the women and had not paid it back.
Bunyan is alleged to have met the first woman, who had mental health issues, when she called police about a disagreement she had with a lodger.
The second, a single mum, allegedly met him when he came to take a statement after she reported her partner for domestic violence.
The third woman is said to have met him at a neighbourhood unit, when she reported problems with a housing association.
Bunyan allegedly met the fourth woman on a foot patrol and turned up at her home.
The court heard the fifth woman had a relationship with him and claims to have lent him £2,000 for a new car.
During interview, Bunyan is said to have admitted sleeping with four women while on duty and receiving the images.
He allegedly said: "I ain't proud of what I have done but I haven't done anything illegal. I was caught with my **** out. I should have kept my **** in my pants and supported these people. I am gutted. I did love my job."
The trial is expected to last three weeks.
