Truro City's talismanic skipper Jake Ash could make a timely return to the side in tonight's Blue Square Bet South clash at Sutton United.
Fit-again Ash – who has been kept out by a groin injury – was an unused substitute in City's 4-0 league defeat at Bromley last Saturday.
However, with experienced former Plymouth Argyle and Walsall midfielder Joe Broad suffering a groin injury at Bromley, the versatile Ash may be recalled to play a deep-lying midfield role.
City player-manager Lee Hodges said: "Ashy was on the bench on Saturday, which was a bonus. It's always good having him around, and to be honest I am sure he would have given me 15 or 20 minutes if I asked.
"But with Broady going off early and then us being 4-0 down, I had to think ahead and, you never know, Ashy may have a bigger part to play at Sutton."
Last night Hodges reported that fit-again goalkeeper Luke Payne – who missed last Saturday's game – is set to travel with the squad to Sutton and that first-team regular Broad could still feature.
Hodges said: "I have heard from Joe and I think he is willing to give it a go. It's a bit of a waiting game to see how he feels in the morning before we travel but I wouldn't be surprised, knowing his commitment, to see him on the bus and Payney is up for it as well.
"All the boys will need to be up for it because Sutton are a big, direct side and we will have to be at our best at the back.
"Every time we play I learn new things as a manager and new things about us and Saturday at Bromley, where we held them 1-0 at half-time, was no different. The first half and then what happened in the second half has given me food for thought."
