Dragons Den star Peter Jones will take on the failed camera chain of Jessops by re-opening up to 30 high street stores.
It is not yet clear whether the Truro store, which closed in January, is one of the shops to be re-opened.
Mr Jones, who made his millions in mobile phones, believes the photography business has a future on the high street in the UK.
He said: "I'm putting my name behind Jessops because it is a great British brand that has always delivered for its customers, and puts people first when it comes to capturing the memories that mean so much to all of us."
Two Jessops stores will open today in London's Oxford Street and Birmingham, with four others opening over the Easter weekend in Manchester, Aberdeen, High Wycombe and St Albans.
Up to 30 more Jessops stores are due to re-open in April, as part of a £5 million investment.
