A disabled woman was rescued by firefighters this morning from her flat at Long Rock, near Penzance.
She called the fire service at about 4:30am and said that she was unable to move. Firefighters from St Ives and Penzance arrived at the scene and found the flat smoke-logged.
The cause of the fire was a chip-pan which had been left on the cooker.
The condition of the woman is not known at this time.
