Licensed premises across Cornwall were recognised at the third annual Best Bar None awards evening, which was held at Heartlands.
The scheme rewards those establishments that meet minimum standards for licensing legislation, including the prevention of crime and disorder, public safety, prevention of nuisance, health and safety and protection of children.
Attendees at the event included representatives of the licensed trade, statutory agencies and other organisations involved in managing the Cornwall Best Bar None scheme.
Des Tidbury, chief fire officer and director of community safety and protection for Cornwall, presented the awards and highlighted the value and importance of the scheme.
He said: "Licensed premises in Cornwall make an important contribution to the local economy.
"The high standards of management achieved by the premises represented here tonight reflect their ambition to provide a safe, top quality social experience for residents and visitors.
"The Cornwall Best Bar None Scheme provides the opportunity for premises to receive the recognition they deserve in achieving the standard required for accreditation and support for continued improvement in the future."
Graham Eva, chairman of the Cornwall Licensing Strategic Group that administers the Cornwall Best Bar None Scheme, said: "The premises that have been awarded accreditation this year are to be congratulated.
"We hope their achievement encourages many more licensed premises in Cornwall to aspire to the standards required and receive recognition in 2014.
"Our scheme is unique nationally in that it is the only one that is county-wide and therefore open to all licensed premises in Cornwall."
The overall winner of Cornwall Best Bar None 2013 was Sound Nightclub, Penzance.
Premises category winners were: best small pub – Hop and Vine, St Austell; best large pub – The John Francis Bassett, Camborne; best bar – Zafiros, Truro; best nightclub – Sound, Penzance.
Premises achieving the standard for accreditation under the scheme for 2013 - Central Inn, Newquay; Sound, Penzance; Rann Wartha, St Austell; The Office, Truro; Eclipse, Bodmin; Walkabout, Newquay; Vanilla Bar, Truro; The Cribbar, Newquay; Western Inn, St Austell; The Hain Line, St Ives; The Chapel An Granblydhen, Bodmin; Zafiros, Truro; The John Francis Basset, Camborne; The Tremenheere, Penzance; The Hop and Vine, St Austell; The Try Dowr, Truro.
Two premises, The Hop and Vine and Sound, were recognised for their commitment to staff training with an award sponsored by the British Institute of Innkeeping.
