Redruth player-coach Steve Evans says his side have nothing to lose during their National League Two South trip to Henley Hawks this weekend.
The Reds have dropped out of the promotion race in recent weeks, with four league defeats all but ending their chances.
The Hawks will expect to extend the Reds' winless run tomorrow as they look to enhance their own hopes of going up.
Evans said: "We are in a catch-22 situation – we know we are unlikely to go up but we do not want to lose any more games. The positive side of it is that we can go up to Henley with no fear. They have got more to lose this weekend, the pressure is on them.
"If you look at their points scored this season, they have scored a lot more points than anybody in the league.
"We want to avoid a fifth straight loss and put a spanner in their promotion works. Hopefully, we can dominate them up front and get something out of it."
Redruth were frustrated by last week's home loss to Shelford but took some respite from a Rodda's Milk Cup win over Camborne on Easter Monday. Evans said: "It was very difficult because the first 40 minutes was OK, but we didn't score enough points.
"We went in at half-time thinking we had already done enough to win, but they scored early in the second half and we struggled to get our grip back on the game.
"There were a few things said in the team circle after the game – nothing major – but we know we have to take a look at ourselves.
"It was lucky to have the game against Camborne on Monday and a fair few of the boys played to put a few things right."
Redruth's team selection this weekend will hinge on Greg Goodfellow's availability. The scrum-half was shown a red card against Canterbury last month and an RFU-enforced suspension is expected imminently.
Nick Simmons has returned from a trip to America while on-loan Cornish Pirate Owen Hambly hopes to overcome a back problem. Back Lewis Vinnicombe is also set to feature after missing out last weekend.
"Nick Simmons is back this weekend but much will depend on Greg Goodfellow," said Evans. "We are still waiting to hear about that. If Greg is unavailable, Nick will slot in at nine.
"Lewis Vinnicombe and Owen Hambly should be available this weekend."
