Old workers from the Geevor Tin Mine are set for their annual reunion this Saturday night at the North Inn Pub in Pendeen.
Since the mine's gradual closure, which started in 1986 the past miners and their partners have met once a year to remember the old times and celebrate over a traditional pasty and pint.
"It was a special place to work," said Geoff Treseder, who helps organise the event.
"There was a camaraderie there that I don't think exists anymore."
Geevor was finally closed down in 1990, following financial cuts that left the workers out of a job.
"It's always a little bit sad – tinged with sadness," added Geoff.
"And every year there is usually another past miner who has passed away."
Despite the sad memories, the night is also about celebration – and this year's reunion may even have an additional incentive to raise a toast for some.
Margaret Thatcher, who died on Monday was crucial to the mine's collapse during her time as Prime Minister.
"I might get the Champagne out later – she was definitely a barrier to funds coming to Geevor," said Geoff.
