A Cornish business which aims to provide links for various strands of renewable energy activity has been awarded £240,000 in grant funding which will see it recruit around 20 people.

Newquay-based KEO energyshare has been awarded the grant from the Grant for Business Investment, funded by the European Regional Development Fund.

The digital marketing and communications business, part of KEO Digital, plans to identify, connect and promote energy initiatives taking place across Cornwall to highlight the expertise on offer in the county.

It will work in partnership with Cornwall Council to inform consumers, deliver projects and create partnerships that help establish Cornwall's expertise and innovation in the sector in order to attract inward investment.

KEO Digital executive director Rob Love said: "This investment allows us to not only create opportunities for Cornish people to build and develop their skills in the county, but to celebrate the brilliant energy projects happening around Cornwall."
