Camborne's "high priestess" of Cornish pasty making was knocked out of ITV's Food Glorious Food at the semi final stage.
Great grandmother Eunice Woolcock's recipe got her through the regional heats of the competition.
But 150 members of the WI chose a Pimm's summer fruit jelly ahead of Mrs Woolcock's pasty and a smoked salmon cheese cake to go through to the grand final.
Food Glorious Food, presented by Carol Vorderman, saw judges Loyd Grossman, Stacie Stewart, Tom Parker-Bowles and Anne Harrison scouring the country for the best regional dishes.
After eating Mrs Woolcock's pasty, Mr Parker-Bowles said: "If you could feed me this every day, I would die a happy man.
"It's one of the greatest Cornish pasties I think I've ever eaten."
He described her as the "high priestess" of Cornish pasty making, and it was his backing that helped her become the regional winner for the west of the country.
In the semi-final, Mrs Woolcock had to make 150 pasties, so she roped in a few of her pasty making friends.
But in the grand hall of Ashridge House in Hertfordshire, WI' members selected the fruit jelly, produced by the Star Bistro, a restaurant in Gloucestershire run by young people with physical, learning and behavioural difficulties.
The winner of the grand final will win £20,000 and will see their product on sale in M&S' stores around the country.
Mrs Woolcock described her Food Glorious Food experience as "absolutely fabulous".
She said: "I never thought I was going to win the competition, you have to be realistic, but I'm pleased to have won people's hearts."
Mrs Woolcock received more than 4,200 likes on Facebook during her TV appearances.
She added: "I'm only an ordinary person, my father was an ordinary miner, and I don't understand how a common person like me got to an occasion like this.
"I shall never forget people's kindness. the TV people couldn't have treated me better if I was the queen."
