Girls from a school in Truro will be shaving off their hair for charity on Friday.
Richard Lander students Harriet Taylor and Maggie Sykes, both 12, are raising money for a charity that helps young people in Africa.
The pair have made a short video to appeal to the public for sponsorship to raise funds for the African Medical Resources and Education Foundation (Amref).
The girls will have their heads shaved at the Snippets salon in Perranporth on Friday at 4.15pm.
Nikki Tyler, Harriet's mum, said: "As you can see from the video, the girls have very long hair which will take years to grow back to its current length.
"The charity is close to the girls' hearts, particularly Maggie as she has lived in Africa and has seen the impact that a lack of basic facilities has on communities."
