A TALENTED pupil has beaten 200 other young composers to become just one of ten national competition winners.
Daniel Hall, in Year 11 at Poltair School, won the Young Composer Fanfare contest.
He travelled to London with his parents to visit the Royal Opera House, which sponsored the competition, where his composition will be orchestrated and recorded.
It will be played to audiences as the signal to take their seats before a performance.
"The challenge was to compose a short and attention-grabbing piece of music," he said. "The judges came from both opera and ballet backgrounds and chose their ten favourite fanfares from the 200 entries."You can listen to Daniel's successful composition at
