DIVERS are set to scour the waters around Land's End as they continue to search for a millionaire lone yachtswoman missing at sea for six months.
Ona Mary Unwin disappeared last October while sailing her recently-bought yacht Seagair from Mousehole to Bideford, north Devon. Her body has never been found and she is still believed to have gone down with the vessel.
With the case of the missing newly-wed still active, police have said divers will focus their search efforts on the notoriously stormy waters around Land's End.
"We have recognised some potential sites off Land's End which will be explored," said Penzance Inspector Jean Phillips.
"If we take in to account the eye witness sightings and wreckage recovery, then we come up with possible sites worthy of exploration."
It is not known when the divers will descend into the waters off Penwith in search of the yachtswoman and any wreck but weather is currently believed to be hampering efforts.
Mrs Unwin was last seen leaving Mousehole harbour at 6.30pm on Saturday October 13, bumping her boat on the way out of the quay as she set sail to meet her husband in Bideford.
The 65 year old had bought the £32,000 yacht in Falmouth days earlier and had been warned not to sail around Land's End at night.
Debris, including seats and parts of a ships keel from the Seagair, were spotted washed up between Sennen and St Just days after she was last seen.
"The assumption is still that she went down with the yacht," said Insp Phillips.
