An online video magazine in Cornwall is soon to release a feature film covering Mousehole in early
May.
Cornish Living TV, which produces documentaries and narratives focusing on the culture around the
Duchy, is currently producing a 30-minute video capturing the west Cornwall home of Star Gazey
Pie.
The picturesque port was chosen following an online voting poll on Facebook, where residents of the
centuries-old fishing village came out on top.
The feature highlights the history, people and modern-day topics surrounding Mousehole – from a
Spanish raid to the highly controversial conversation of second homes.
Steven Radcliff, 35, originally from Camborne, is one of the producers at Cornish Living TV.
He said, "you get a real sense that people want to know about the place and the history.
"The video shows off the beauty of Mousehole, and you get to know some of the people there.
"We also talk a bit about the Penlee disaster, the Mousehole Cat and the Spaniards who burnt the
village down in 1895."
The team, made up of Mr Radcliff and cameraman Matthew Roy, has just released its trailer for the
film, which shows clips of the lifeboat station, the seafront cottages and a local painter.
Mousehole is the first location of a planned series of shorts covering towns and villages around the
Duchy.
Cornwall Living TV asks residents to vote for destinations through social media, with Polperro
currently in the lead for the second location – though this could change.
"Polperro is winning at the moment.
"But there is a while to go yet – we're happy to go anywhere, there are so many lovely places to
film," Mr Radcliff said.
Cornish Living TV also features a number of other documentaries, articles and photography.
