Two of Portreath's finest citizens were honoured at the parish council's annual meeting.
Clerk Jean Oates MBE and councillor Nigel Mathews have been with the council since it was first formed on April 15, 1985.
And although Mrs Oates is staying, Mr Mathews has decided to "call it a day" after 28 years of public service.
Tributes were led at the meeting by the vice chairman councillor Doug Coates.
He said: "Councillor Mathews we want to recognise and honour you for the 28 years of continuous and outstanding service you have given to this parish.
"You have that professional expertise and talent in design and planning that was needed to shape so much of our parish.
"Your skills have led the way in making improvements to the beach, to the car park to the harbour, to the playing fields and to Greenfield Gardens.
"You have worked on the Mineral Tramways and on our Mining Villages World Heritage bid.
"Then last year you turned your attention to the enormous job of producing a parish plan setting out how the people of Portreath want their village to develop through the next decade.
"And in this, your last year with this council you are still at it. Only this month obtaining a grant from the Mining Villages for what may be your last project for Portreath, that is transforming the former WAAF site into a feature for the Mineral Tramways Heritage Trail.
"There are so many examples of what you have been up to for the past 28 years that I could go on for ever - but one major project that you will be remembered for stands out as a lasting legacy for Portreath.
"Your management of the very stylish regeneration of the Square and Beach Road brought a new brightness and life to Portreath and made the square an attractive focal point of our village."
Mrs Oates is to travel to London later in the spring to collect her MBE.
