Cornish Pirates coaches Ian Davies and Harvey Biljon are both excited about the future of the club as Josh Lewsey's term as CEO gathers pace.
Lewsey outlined his vision for the Penzance club this week and talked about a future with Pirates winning the Heineken Cup.
Renewed hope for a Stadium for Cornwall has potentially given the club a pathway to the top flight of English rugby.
The major hurdle for the club, who have reached the Championship final twice in the past three seasons, has been their inability to meet minimum standards criteria for Premiership rugby.
Plans for a 10,000 capacity ground were given conditional consent by Cornwall Council last month and Lewsey seems keen to seize the moment.
Head coach Davies said: "We have direction again. This year we have been drifting along, plugging holes in the boat on many occasions.
"It has been tough for the players, myself and Harvey, and the supporters as well.
"With Josh coming onboard, and all the thoughts myself and Harvey have, we are all aligned. The management board are supporting it fully and it is about a new journey.
"We have looked backwards this year maybe too often and now we have to look forward. It is a new cycle – let's see where the journey takes us."
Biljon is looking forward to working on the finer details with Davies over the summer. He said: "It is all very exciting. The key thing for me at the minute is how enthused everyone is, individually, about what is going on.
"I still feel we need to get down to the nitty-gritty of the detail, but that is what Ian and I will do over the off-season.
"It is going to be a whole new pre-season and we have this purpose again and something to aim for in the future."
Talk of winning European rugby's premier club competition shows the level of ambition within the club.
Davies and Biljon said this was exciting, rather than daunting. Biljon said: "I remember nudging Ian at the time and saying 'that's a big statement'. At the same time, it is an incredibly exciting thing.
"We have to get a lot of little things right as we look to build towards the future."
Davies added: "You have to have that ambition. Being the best you can be is fair enough, but that is not a target.
"Being in the Heineken Cup is measurable. To get there, there are many steps along the way. As long as everything is aligned within the club, we will move forward.
"We will never forget our roots, but to move forward, to get the supporter base we require, to fill the Stadium for Cornwall when it is built, you need the whole of Cornwall to be behind you."
