A woman had to be airlifted to hospital after falling eight feet onto rocks in Falmouth this evening.
The 45-year-old fell from steps onto the rocky foreshore between the Greenbank Hotel and the Royal Cornwall Yacht Club just before 7pm.
Because of the location and that she has sustained injuries, the ambulance service requested assitance from the Coastguard cliff rescue team and RNAS Culdrose search and rescue helicopter.
Although it was low tide, it was decided it was the quickest and best route to airlift her.
The woman was put on a stretcher and winched into the helcopter, which then took her to the Royal Cornwall Hospital, Treliske for treatment.
