A SPECIAL bench has been dedicated at Penair School in memory of a student who took her own life last year.
Courtney Gwynn was only 14 when her mother Agnes found her in her bedroom at Carharrack, near Redruth, on January 6, 2012.
Today friends, family and staff who knew the teen, gathered to unveil the granite seat outside the school's music department where Courtney spent much of her time.
Mrs Gwynn said: "I wanted today to bring closure to the children, I want them to know it is okay to move on.
"She will always be remembered here."
Penair headteacher, Dr Barbara Vann, added: "The bench means a lot to our students. Courtney's death was one of the largest events in their lives and something they spent a lot of time thinking and reflecting on."
