FIREFIGHTERS were called to a fire on Fore Street in Mousehole last night, after passers by spotted excessive smoke coming from a chimney.
The fire service received the call at around 8.30pm on Thursday May 9 and sent a fire truck to the village home.
Six firefighters used chimney rods and a thermal imaging camera to fight the fire, which was extinguished within half an hour.
The cause of the fire is unknown.
A spokesman at Penzance Community Fire Station warned people to check their chimneys regularly.
