Hundreds of women took the to the streets of Falmouth yesterday to take part in the annual Race for Life event, raising funds for Cancer Research.
The Falmouth race is the first of four to be held in Cornwall, with others at Truro, Wadebridge and Penzance.
Last year, more than 4,300 women took part in the Cornwall races and raised more than £212,000 between them. This year, organisers are hoping the total will be £250,000.
Conditions were not as good as in previous years, with the rain starting just as the participants warmed up at Gyllyngvase Beach.
But it did not deter anyone and they ran, jogged, walked, danced and cycled around the 5km route.
