The devotion of school pupils to teenage wizard Harry Potter was put to the test in an all-night movie-watching marathon. Pupils from Roseland Community College stayed awake through the night to watch all eight films and raise funds for the school's book club. Pupil Kim Nelson said: "The school hall was full of Harry Potter fans and people who wanted the challenge of staying up for twenty hours. A lot of people dressed up as Harry Potter characters which made the event more exciting. We were all sat in houses like in the films and in the books." The all-night event, organised by teacher Jamie Hancock, started at 6.30pm on April 19 with the final credits rolling at 2.30pm the next day. Pupil Charlotte Pollard said some pupils did drop off as the evening went on despite the captivating story of Harry's adventures at Hogwarts. She said: "During the fifth and sixth film it was even quieter as even more people were asleep, unlike the last two films when everyone was wide awake watching the last two ever Harry Potter films and everyone could see the end was in sight."
