Fowey lifeboat crew helped tow a yacht to safety overnight.
The sloop Southwind suffered problems withe propeller as she was on route for Fowey Harbour when the problems arose.
She was due to arrive at 1am this morning but the coastguard was called at 10.40pm last night.
However an RNLI spokesman said: "She would have been unable to manouvre at all due to fickle wind conditions."
Brixham coastguard decided the most sensible action was to ask the lifeboat to tow her into harbour.
The skipper of Southwind said: "It was very decent of them to all turn out, we had nowhere to go."
