A £1,500 cheque has been presented to Treverbyn Academy for new wooden climbing equipment to challenge their little monkeys. Friends of Treverbyn Academy (FTA), led by Ashley Morris, secured the grant, which was received last week, from Community First for the school's Monkey Business Project. The FTA raised the remaining money needed for the first phase of the scheme. Monkey Business is a three-phase project aimed at encouraging physically active play. "It will enable children aged 0 to 12 years to be more physically active, partake in decision making and, through risk taking, challenge and stretch themselves," said a FTA spokesperson. "It will help to contribute to the health and wellbeing of the pupils at Treverbyn Academy, improve confidence, self-esteem and ability to socialise."
