Laurie McGlone will lead the Cornish Pirates in their first ever meeting with Dundee High on Saturday when they meet north of the border in the British & Irish Cup at Mayfield (3pm).
The experienced New Zealander came through a solid eighty minutes for the Pirates last week against Carmarthen after a lengthy lay-off with a knee problem. Now he will anchor the scrum as well at Number 8 with Ben Maidment returning at flanker in place of the injured Chris Morgan.
In the front row Alan Paver and Rob Elloway are both rested with Ben Prescott and Jack Yeandle taking their places.
In the backs Tom Bedford moves to the centre in place of Junior Fatialofa and Jack Nowell will make his second start for the club at full-back after being released from Heineken Cup duty by Exeter Chiefs.
On the wing there is a welcome return for Grant Pointer who has been out of action since dislocating a shoulder in the season opener at Jersey on September 1st. Tom Riley and Ryan Storer come onto the bench as does on-loan Hull RFC full-back Jim Wigglesworth.
The 19 year-old is a highly rated prospect who has also featured for Nottingham and England Counties to date.
Cornish Pirates: - Nowell, Pointer, Cheesman, Bedford, Mercer, Penberthy, Kessell; Andrew, Yeandle, Prescott, Lyons, Barry, Maidment, Burgess, McGlone (capt) Replacements – Storer, Semmens, Joyce, Johnson, Coote, Riley, Wigglesworth
