A BREAK-IN at a Cory Environmental depot in St Erth, in which 17 vechiles were vandalised, caused a disruption to its recycling service.
It is estimated the cost of the damage to the centre on St Erth Industrial Estate and 17 recycling vechiles will be £10,000 following the incident on Wednesday overnight.
Each of the 17 trucks received broken windows, as well as having their roof lining slashed and goods, such as radios, stolen. The culprits are believed to have entered by cutting a hole in the depot's perimeter fencing.
The incident was discovered by staff at 5.45am on Thursday morning and is believed to have occurred between then and 6pm on Wednesday.
The damage to the vehicles caused a delay to the centre's scheduled recycling collection on Thursday which spilled over to this morning.
A spokesman confirmed the recycling collection was now up-to-date.
Anyone with any information is asked to call police on 101 or Crimestoppers, anonymously, on 0800 555111 quoting police reference AY/12/861.
