A MAN was rushed to hospital this afternoon after a fire at a Newquay flat.
Emergency services were called to the flat shortly before 1pm to find smoke billowing from a building on Listry Road.
Fire crews used breathing apparatus and a thermal imaging camera to tackle the blaze and recover the casualty.
South West Ambulance Service confirmed the man was then taken to Royal Cornwall Hospital Treliske
A spokeswoman could not specify the state of his injuries but did not believe them to be life threatening.
