FIRST time visitors to Cornwall – and especially St Ives and Carbis Bay – have dubbed it their "best ever" UK holiday destination. More than 600 people were polled by a Carbis Bay holiday firm. And nearly all of them said Cornwall had given their best ever UK holiday – the now famous 'staycation'. What's more, three-quarters said their Cornish break has been the best holiday they've had anywhere in the world, with 99 per cent saying they'd recommend Cornwall to friends. Visitors cite Cornwall's unique welcome and amazing tourist facilities for the surge in satisfaction, according to CarbisBayHolidays.co.uk Customer care manager Tasmin Oates said: "Cornwall really does have something for everybody from world-class attractions, to stunning beach resorts, historic towns and out-of-the-way villages. "No wonder people come back again and again, and word-of mouth is the best advertising there is." According to figures:• 93 per cent of first time visitors say Cornwall is the best holiday they have ever had in the UK• 76 per cent of first time visitors say Cornwall is the best holiday they have ever had in the world• 99 per cent said they would recommend a holiday in Cornwall "Cornwall holidaymakers have given us a huge list of reasons why they love coming to the county so much," said Tasmin. "There are no flights, no language barrier, fantastic blue flag beaches, warmer climate, and family-friendly resorts to name but a few." Tourists also cited unique attractions like the Eden Project, St Michael's Mount and Land's End for their loyalty to Cornwall; with refined resorts such as St Ives and Padstow contrasting with livelier Newquay to cater for all tastes. Tamsin said: "Once upon a time, it was a real bind driving to Cornwall – but now all the bottlenecks have been removed, you can be on the beach from virtually anywhere in the country in a matter of hours. "We've got clients who come back several times a year who simply wouldn't consider going anywhere else. They tell us the skies seem to be bluer, and there's a different surprise every day. "It's like some sort of magnetism, and we're proud to be part of that."
